Unconstrained masculinity, submission & why structure is needed

When I was in design school, one of the things that was marked in my mind by one professor was how there is freedom in constraint and structure. A lack of constraint breeds crisis and a lack of structure feels like chaos. For example, someone with 24 hours in a day and no parameters can easily fall into a trap where time bleeds to a blur. The same exact thing happens with masculinity and submission–if both are left unchecked, they both lose their value in a sea of resistance.

Masculinity without structured submission can create crisis such as machismo, performative submission, zealotry that is loud yet acts in shame, the whoreification of women who are secretly loved and publicly hated because We do not adapt to patriarchal systems… etc.

Look at your daily newsfeed, unchecked & unstructured masculinity  is everywhere.

If you think about it, submission seeks belonging.

Submission seeks containment & structure

So does masculinity.

Think of the circuitry behind dopamine and rewards: A submissive who feels belonging is allowed to exist within parameters of masculinity that feel right. There is no performance, you just are, and doing the tasks that bring that submission to the forefront feel right. It’s very much like the difference between having an experience that changes you vs an experience that is easily forgettable.

At its core, submission creates cellular memories.

The fondest memories of belonging take place when the structure clicks. Psychologically, the circuits that are innately yours are highlighted and there is peace through service (yes even in the most exhilarating moments down to the most meditative and still). It truly is the difference between uncontrolled combustion and a bonfire; One is loud, aggressive, destructive, uncontained, and leaves behind a path of that same destruction. A bonfire, or even a controlled fire have guidance, parameters, and have a purpose–usually creating by destructing and transforming–even the ashes from a bonfire can be used to garden… showing the power of transformation.

It’s something I’ve seen even in non Ds settings, men who understand that there is purpose in belonging see Women in a different way than men who choose to use Women. Constrained submissive masculinity brings about the ability to create all the things constructed masculinity wants to but oftentimes can’t. Ie, commitment, patience, service, desire, and a centered existence.

As they say, the teacher shows up when the student is ready.

That moment where the will to be on your knees past the threshold of fantasy and into the realm of self-actualization as a submissive man where you are inevitably marked–it’s-a-spit-in-your-mouth–hypnotizing you with a glance and My evil little grin moment where your service meets your identity.

A submissive can run but he cannot hide– your submission is within, not without.

The structure of belonging gives you purpose.

Oxygen to a flame.
